English for us!

EnglishisFun project has been specifically designed to balance activities in order to develop the different abilities of children from 3 to 8 years old. The activities are designed to help the children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth introducing the new language in a funny way, with games, songs, dances, mime, crafts, just to name a few. As the program is based on learning experiences and not on a rigid grammatical structure, there is not a starting point. Every child can start at any time without feeling that “is too late”.

The colour ability

Learning a foreign language, or anything else, is very different for an adult than for a child. Indeed, an adult already knows the world around him, so that we can think that all he has to do to learn a new language is to take the words and grammar, and put them together. But we all know that it takes much, much more. Listening, repeating, writing, and reading are just some of the skills required which have already been finalized in an adult. A child is still in a phase of life where he is absorbing information that will

then develop these skills. Indeed, if the child has not yet learned to read and write in his mother tongue, how can we talk about "studying" a foreign grammar in the traditional sense?

Life still represents a new experience for a child who finds new stimuli every day. These stimuli are processed in a complex manner that transcends the schematic of the adult learning. To be able to learn anything, the child needs to develop skills that will help him grow up in the four main aspects of life: social, emotional, physical and intellectual. These skills are divided into six categories

CHILDREN’ S QUESTIONS

Will I truly understand if the teacher speaks English only?

Yes, sure. To help you there will be a nice puppet who speaks Italian and who is learning English, just like you.

And what if I will not be able to do it?

Everybody will be able because there is not a starting point. We will improve our knowledge day by day without “surpassing” nobody, never!

It is true that I can play?

Playing has the same meaning of learning for all children. You will play with us, sing together and we will create many things with our own hands!

PARENTS’ QUESTIONS

What happens if my child gets sick and is absent for a lesson?

No problem, because the program is based on learning experiences and not on rigid grammatical structure, then there is no starting point. Each child can participate in any lesson at any time without "left behind", increasing self-esteem, which is crucial at this stage of growth.

How can I see my child’s improvement?

Every month, each student will receive the "The Colour Mastery" which shows how all the project activities have helped the child growing in the four main aspects of development: social, emotional, physical, intellectual ... not forgetting that he had done all in English !

Maybe my son is too small for this!

It is proven that the best years for learning a foreign language, are the ones that go from birth to six years old. After that, learning will become increasingly difficult and

slow because the mind has been "contaminated" by precise patterns, such as writing. He will learn to recognize a phrase, to put it and use it without translating word for word as older children and adults do.
